I spent the first half of my adult life as a cop in southeast Texas. The second half I spent as a part time cop and a private investigator, active in professional associations and writing for law enforcement and private investigation trade journals. I was involved in writing two novels when the Covid 19 pandemic hit and noticed a barely mentioned fact that a Harvard professor was arrested for selling U. S. secrets to two Chinese spies, one of whom was a lieutenant in the People’s Liberation Army assigned to a lab at the Wuhan University of Science and Technology, ground zero for the pandemic.
